Sleep disorder - A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function.
Rapid eye movement behavior disorder - Rapid eye movement behavior disorder or REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a sleep disorder in which sleep paralysis, which normally disables the voluntary muscles during REM sleep, fails to occur. The result is that the sufferer acts out movements that occur in dreams, especially during dramatic episodes, sometimes with injurious results.
Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome - Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome, also termed non-24-hour circadian rhythm disorder or hypernychthemeral syndrome, is a sleep disorder in which a person's internal clock runs longer than 24 hours. The person's body essentially insists that the day is longer than 24 hours, which may not allow socially accepted sleeping patterns and make it difficult for the sufferer to sleep at "normal times.
Polysomnography - Polysomnography is the multi-parametric test used in the study of sleep. The name is derived from Greek roots: 'Poly' (many), 'somno' (sleep), and 'graphy' (writing).
